Application Process for
City Garden Staff

Key Instructions

All applicants are welcome to submit their application materials by printing and mailing them in, or submitting their materials online. See the two processes listed below. The process to apply for the City Garden Montessori Institute Teacher Education Program is very lengthy. Please take the time to read all instructions and content carefully before beginning the application process.

Online Submission Process

Step 1: Click the button below to review the Application for Admissions. The Application for Admissions is a web-based form, and it is quite long. The application does NOT enable folks to save their responses and return at a later date. Therefore, we recommend applicants review the form in advance and allocate time to submit an application in one sitting.

Step 2: In addition to filling out the Application for Admissions, applicants must also upload the following documents to their Application for Admissions.  

1. Professional Resume

2. Personal Essay; this essay must be approximately 400 words describing your reasons for wanting to work with children, your personal educational philosophy, what strengths you bring, and what draws you to the Montessori approach to education.

3. College Transcripts; applicants must submit one transcript from the colleges they attended. If the applicant has received a degree and attended multiple institutions, transcripts are only required from the degree awarding institution. If your transcripts are already on file at City Garden Montessori School, you may waive this step.

4. Tuition Agreement – In order to process your application, the tuition agreement document must be signed and submitted. Please click the button below to download the Tuition Agreement.

Step 4: Each applicant must also identity three references to...

1. Write a reference letter;
2. Complete an Adult Learner Recommendation Form and;
3. Upload both documents to the Reference Portal.

The references but be non-relatives who can speak of your character and values and some or all of the following: work ethic, academic skills, and experience working with children. Please see the steps for filling out and submitting these forms below.

Step 4A. If you are the applicant, click the buttons below to download the Adult Learner Recommendation Forms.

Step 4B. If you are the applicant, fill out the applicant portion of each Adult Learner Recommendation Form.

Step 4C. If you are the applicant, send each Adult Learner Recommendation Form to the corresponding reference, with the applicant portions completed. Please instruct each reference to fill out the reference portion of the Adult Learner Recommendation Form and write a reference letter.

Step 4D. The references must NOT send the completed Adult Learner Recommendation Forms and reference letters back to the applicant. This is to ensure that references can be candid with their feedback about the applicant.

References must email their completed Adult Learner Recommendation Form and reference letter to institute@citygardenschool.org. Upon emailing said documents, Step 4 of the application process will be complete.

Step 5: Once you, the applicant, have compiled your Professional Resume, Personal Essay, College Transcripts, and signed Tuition Agreement, return to the Application for Admissions and upload said documents to their respective fields.

Step 6: Ensure you have submitted all the biographic data in the Application for Admissions.

Step 7: Once you have submitted all the biographic data and uploaded the necessary documents, click the submit button. Upon clicking submit, you will have completed the application process.

Step 2: Please print each document and fill out the necessary paperwork.

Step 3: Please mail the following items...

A. Professional Resume

Step 4: After completing the applicant portion of each Adult Learner Recommendation Form, please mail the three forms to the three references you have selected.

Step 5: Once your references have filled out the reference portion of their Adult Learner Recommendation Form, instruct them to mail said document to the following address...
