• Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020, families that qualify for free or reduced price meals at school may be eligible for a new one-time Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) of up to $302 per child (Pre-Kindergarten – Grade 12) to help cover the cost of meals students have eaten at home on days that schools have been closed. If your child was not previously eligible for free or reduced price meals, but you have now lost income, you may be eligible to receive P-EBT benefits. • Local Food Resources:

• St. Louis Public School District is welcoming charter school students and their siblings to pick up free meals kits with enough food for seven days on Friday’s from 8:00 AM to noon ($1 for adults). There are several participating school locations all over the city. Distribution will take place in gymnasiums (or outside at certain locations). Children need to be present to receive a meal. If you are needing additional meals for days you will not be able to go in person, please be sure to ask if you can pick up additional bags. • For those living in Forest Park Southeast, City Greens Market is offering a free bag of groceries to families affected by COVID-19. Click here to learn more.

• Pandemic resources posted by the St. Louis City Treasurer’s Office including pandemic financial resources and the city’s emergency resource guide (COVID-19 Contacts, Utilities, Community Resources, Housing, Food/Children, General Assistance/Referrals. Click here for more information.

• Operation Food Search is offering food assistance to families during this time.

• Ameren has posted information on COVID-19, income relief program, and links to other programs for assistance with electric bills for those who qualify. Click here to learn more.

• Park Central Development is connecting people who live in the following neighborhoods with the following resources:

• Residents that live in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood:

• Working in partnership with City Greens, Park Central is looking to provide FREE GROCERIES to 100 families in the month of April that have been affected by COVID-19. Must be a resident of Forest Park Southeast (zip 63110).

• Security deposit assistance: Offering security deposit assistance for residents residing in or planning on residing in one of the following neighborhoods in the service footprint: Academy/Sherman Park, Botanical Heights, Central West End, Forest Park Southeast, Fountain Park, and Tiffany neighborhoods.

• Emergency utility assistance: Offering emergency utility assistance (overdue or disconnection notice) for residents residing in or planning on residing in one of the following neighborhoods in the service footprint: Academy/Sherman Park, Botanical Heights, Central West End, Forest Park Southeast, Fountain Park, and Tiffany neighborhoods.

Nanyamka Brown (314-643-8261 email at NBrown@pcd-stl.org) with Park Central is also available to assist families in applying for unemployment benefits if they have recently lost their job due to the pandemic. If time is limited they will prioritize assisting people who reside in the primary neighborhoods their organization serves, but are able to assist others if time allows. Please reach out!
